Jerry Forde’s New Phoenix Jazz Band

Always a popular addition to our programme, Jerry Forde’s New Phoenix Jazz Band, were formed in 2011 from a wide range of musicians and play mainly traditional jazz from the first half of the 20th century.

Driven by the rhythm section engine room of Jerry Forde on bass, Jack Wilson on drums and Phil Adams on guitar and banjo, the frontline features three of Scotland’s most prominent horn players in Martin Foster and Dick Lee (reeds) and Lorne Cowieson on trumpet. Add to that the vocals of Christine Adams and you have the perfect septet to create early jazz and serve it up in a most entertaining way!

We’re as ever at the Queen Margaret Hall on Blackness Road (EH49 7JA) – 7pm doors for a 7.30pm start, running til 10. BYOB, and drinks & nibbles (not forgetting your glasses and plates!) Tea and coffee is available at the interval for a small donation. Tickets (£10) are on sale at Far From the Madding Crowd, 20 High Street, Linlithgow and online at Eventbrite.
