Bossa Trio, Saturday 2nd March

To counteract the cold, dreich weather, we’re bringing you some Brazilian sunshine with Bossa Trio on March 2nd.

Tenor saxman Nick Gould and drummer Kevin Dorrian (both previous performers at Linlithgow Jazz) are led by Portuguese frontman Sergio Prazares whose stunning guitar and vocals (sung in his native language) resonate beautifully with the majesty of Brazil’s colourful musical tradition. You can hear some excerpts of their music on their FaceBook page.

Their music promises to transport you to the bustle of the Rio Carnival, the warmth of the Copacabana Beach and the intensity of the Favelas. Now wouldn’t THAT be nice on a cold March Saturday!

Far From the Madding Crowd (20 High Street, Linlithgow) have tickets (£12) or you can by them online at TicketSource, ticketsource.co.uk/linlithgow-jazz – we are trying out this new outlet this month as their fees are more reasonable than Eventbrite’s (an online ticket for this month’s show will cost you £13.01), but please let us know if you have any problems using it.

As ever the night is BYOB (and snacks etc), so don’t forget to give yourselves time to nip across the road to the supermarket! There is however tea/coffee available at the interval. The fun takes place in the Queen Margaret Hall (see the About section for details) and doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start, running till around 10pm.
