Miles! Miles! Miles!, Saturday 6th July

Summer’s supposedly here, but if you need refuge indoors, accompany it with a sunny musical soundtrack as piano virtuoso David Patrick brings his Miles Davis tribute to Linlithgow.

David put it very eloquently himself: Miles Davis was the Sorcerer, the Prince of Darkness, the man who Fell In Love Too Easily. But when it came to interplay between soloist and rhythm section, his 1960s band set the standard for a generation.

Featuring guest saxophonist Brian Molloy, Yati Durant (trumpet), David Patrick (piano), Ed Kelly (bass) and mercurial drummer Dan Shearer, the band perform tunes from the repertoire of Miles’ ’60s band, putting communication, improvisation and creativity at the heart of the music.

This will be another cracking night! Tickets (£12) are on sale at Far From the Madding Crowd (20 High Street, Linlithgow) and online at TicketSource.

The fun takes place in the Queen Margaret Hall (see the About section for details) and doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start, running till around 10pm. As ever the night is BYOB (and glasses, and snacks etc), so don’t forget to give yourselves time to nip across the road to the supermarket! There is however tea/coffee available at the interval.
