It’s all change again in October when we welcome Anna Vanosi and her band for her debut here.
Anna is an Italian-born singer, now based in Edinburgh. Anna’s Italian Jazz Affair combines her Italian musical heritage with her love of the blues and the Great American Songbook. Trained in theatre, she inhabits the character of every song she sings. With songs like ‘Tu Vuo’ Fa’ l’Americano’ evoking 1950s Italy, ‘Fool That I Am’ by Etta James, and Cole Porter’s ‘So In Love’, she shares stories of love, loss, and everything in between – always with charisma, emotion, and a glowing intensity. Her recent Edinburgh Fringe shows gained glowing reviews.
Anna is known for her rich vocal tone and magnetic stage presence. In collaboration with the refined musical sensibility of her pianist David Patrick, Anna’s performances – whether a melancholy ballad or a joyful celebration of life – are heartfelt, stylish and impossible to forget.
Anna is joined by her musical director and pianist David Patrick, Stephen Jack on double bass, Dick Lee on reeds, and Tom Gordon on drums
