harpVox, Saturday 5th August

Rather than taking our customary break in August, like last year, we’ve decided to fill the usual first Saturday slot with live music of a different kind.

harpVox is Sue McHugh singing, and accompanying herself on the harp – there are a few jazz standards to please our regulars but it’s a mix of classic pop and rock from the ’60s onwards, with a few folky things.

The fun side is an audience participation element – you get to pick the songs! Available to ‘request’ are a wide range of songs, from artists like Fleetwood Mac, The Cure, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Snow Patrol, Carol King, Cyndi Lauper, REM and many others so there should be something for everyone! And for anyone who came last year – yes, there are new songs too this year!

Tickets (£10) are available from Far From The Madding Crowd, 20 High St and online at Eventbrite:

A couple of reminders if you’ve made it this far – all shows are BYOB (and snacks etc), though with tea/coffee available at the interval… and please don’t forget that our September show will be on the 9th September, not the 2nd!
