Swing 2023 feat. Seonaid Aitken, Saturday 4th November

In November we have Swing 2023 to play their swinging guitar jazz for us. This trio was set up in the last century and is one of the longest-lasting bands on the Scottish Jazz scene.

After a very long residency at Edinburgh’s Malt Shovel, they are now regulars at Divino Enoteca, with the trio usually being joined by a special guest. For our evening, JJ Russell (rhythm guitar and occasional vocals) will be joined by the outstanding young guitarist Conor Smith and award-winning Andy Robb on double bass.

And their special guest is none other than the much loved Seonaid Aitken! No stranger to Linlithgow Jazz, Seonaid’s soaring violin and crystal clear vocals are always a winner. Add to that her enthusiasm, joy in making music and the fact that she’s one of the nicest performers on the scene, and it’s not surprising that she’s so much in demand in many different areas of music, eg jazz, classical, Scottish, indie pop, composing and arranging.

Seonaid had a clash of dates for our normal Christmas night and is unable to make it this year so we’re delighted that she can join us in November with JJ’s swinging band!

Tickets (£12) are on sale now at Far From the Madding Crowd, 20 High St, Linlithgow and online at Eventbrite.

Like all our shows the night is BYOB (and snacks etc), though with tea/coffee available at the interval. The fun takes place in the Queen Margaret Hall (see the About section for details) and doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start, running till around 10pm.
