Colin Steele’s Kings of Swing – Saturday 5th September 2026

After our short summer break, we’re back on 5th September with Linlithgow Jazz favourite Colin Steele and his Kings of Swing.

This is going to be such a good night, and the second set in particular will be a lot of fun! Here’s the official ‘blurb’:

Trumpeter Colin Steele (Scottish jazz musician of the year 2025) has pulled together a stellar line up of Scotland’s top swing jazz musicians who will be playing classic jazz hits from the 1930s and ’40s from the likes of Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington.

With decades of experience between them, the band has an enormous repertoire and will warmly welcome tune requests for the second set so please let them know if you have a favourite tune and they’ll be happy to oblige!

Featuring: Colin Steele – trumpet, Martin Foster – clarinet and saxophone, Campbell Normand – piano, Roy Percy – double bass, and Jim Drummond – drums.

As ever, the fun takes place in the Queen Margaret Hall (see the About section for details) and doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start, running till around 10pm. Don’t forget the night is BYOB (and glasses, and snacks etc), so stock up, or give yourselves time to nip across the road to the supermarket! Tea/coffee is available at the interval.
