On Saturday 6th August we have a slight departure from your regular programming!
As regular attendees will know, we normally take a break from our monthly gigs in August, due to holidays and musicians working flat out in festivals, the Fringe etc.
However, this year, we have Sue McHugh, performing with her harpVox project. It’s an eclectic jukebox of songs sung and played, as the name suggests, on the harp, sometimes using loop and effects pedals to create a really different sound.
Sue’s setlist consists mainly of classic pop/rock songs from the ’60s onwards (there are even a couple from this century…), some folk and a few jazz standards too. Expect to hear songs originally performed by the likes of Fleetwood Mac, REM, The Beatles, Bob Marley, Karine Polwart and many, many more.
Some audience participation is expected – no, while you are free to sing along, the format is, after a short first set, you will have the opportunity to select the songs played in the following two sets from a decent-sized selection.
This should be a nice, relaxed evening with some great songs and plenty of opportunity to chill with friends.
Tickets are now on sale via Eventbrite.
