Following a perfect start to the New Year with the Tenement Jazz Band, we continue the a great lineup for 2026 with the fabulous Classic Jazz Orchestra making an overdue return visit.
Simply put, CJO comprises 8 of Scotland’s top jazz musicians who form the perfect jazz ‘small big band’ while also having the opportunity to shine individually, thanks to the first class arrangements by Ken Mathieson. (For anyone who’s new to jazz and/or Linlithgow Jazz, Ken is a much respected musician, both as a drummer and arranger and, for many years, was the drummer in Sue McHugh’s house band).
Playing the music of Benny Goodman, Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington, Benny Carter (among others!) CJO are always musically excellent and extremely entertaining – these guys love to play together!
We sold a lot of tickets at our January night, but the rest are now with Far From The Madding Crowd, 20 High Street, as well as some online at TicketSource.
As ever, the fun takes place in the Queen Margaret Hall (see the About section for details) and doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start, running till around 10pm. Don’t forget the night is BYOB (and glasses, and snacks etc), so stock up, or give yourselves time to nip across the road to the supermarket! Tea/coffee is available at the interval.
