Bill Marshall & Sue McHugh, Saturday 9th August

As in previous years, we are having a break from jazz in August, too many musicians are tied up with festivals and the Fringe.
However, for the last couple of years, we’ve filled the slot with Sue McHugh doing with a nice intimate acoustic gig, just a girl and her harp.
However, this year we’re doing it a little differently. For a start, we’re NOT on the 1st Saturday in August but on Saturday 9th. And the first set will be from the effervescent Bill Marshall who will be singing and storytelling from his decades in folk and jazz.
Then the second set will be harpVox – Sue and her harp – singing and playing your requests (and hopefully being joined by Bill for a song or two). While not strictly jazz, this should be a fun night – tickets are on sale in Far From the Madding Crowd, 20 High Street, Linlithgow and online at Ticketsource.

As ever the fun takes place in the Queen Margaret Hall (see the About section for details) and doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start, running till around 10pm. Don’t forget the night is BYOB (and glasses, and snacks etc), so stock up, or give yourselves time to nip across the road to the supermarket! Tea/coffee is available at the interval.

(You will also notice on TicketSource that Sue is doing another music barge cruise this Saturday (26th). This is a 2.5 hour trip from the Manse Road canal basin to the Avon Aqueduct (and back) while you sip your favourite tipple, nibble on snacks and listen to relaxing music as you drift by beautiful scenery. This is almost sold out now, but there may be a small number of seats remaining).
