Beyond Fever is a tribute to the late, wonderful Peggy Lee, with Sue McHugh telling her story, interwoven with pertinent songs.
This much-loved singer and songwriter has fascinating life story whose appeal is just as relevant today. Sue tells her story, interwoven with pertinent songs, all of which were sung by Peggy and some were co-written by her. With a little bit of chat, the main focus will be on the music – a mixture of sexy latin songs, great swing numbers and heart wrenching ballads to illustrate the life of a remarkable performer and woman.
With Jim Clelland on piano (a grand piano this time, he’s worth it!), Jimmy Taylor on double bass and Ken Mathieson on drums. We are hoping to tour this show next year (to mark Peggy Lee’s 100th birthday) so you can get a sneak preview here!
As ever we’re at the Queen Margaret Hall, 7pm doors for a 7.30pm start. Tickets £10 in advance in person at Far From The Madding Crowd, 20 High St, Linlithgow, or online at Eventbrite.
